All road leads to Rome. The same can be said for investing: There are many different investment vehicles that can take us to our Rome, financial freedom. However, not all investment vehicles are made the same. In this module, we will look at the different investment vehicles and evaluate their viability in generating wealth for the long term. Furthermore, we will take an in depth look at the different types of stocks and what to expect out of them. After this module, you will know what investment vehicles/stocks to avoid and what type of stocks to look out for.
Ignorance is bliss. In this module, we will show you how a know-nothing investor can outperform 96% of professional investors without any stock-picking, chart-reading, monitoring, and spending only minutes a year. The Idiot-Proof Portfolio is virtually guaranteed to make money in the long run with an average return of 8% per annum. All it takes is a 3-step process and we will help you in getting it set up!
The love of money is the root of all evil. In this module, we will show you why most investors fail to make money from the stock market while some do and make a lot. We will look into the minds of successful investors and find out what is it that make them so different from the rest of the herd. Hint: It has nothing to do with intelligence, but more about controlling your emotions and exercising rationality.
Synergy is where 1+1=5. In this module, we will introduce the value-growth investing concept. Value-growth investing simply embodies the core principles of both value and growth investing. We will also introduce the 15-Point Checklist Methodology developed by us which will help you in picking winning stocks and generate 15-20% returns per annum! You will learn how to evaluate a company’s business model, competitive advantages, and growth potential. By doing so, you will be able to find stocks that will do well in the long term, in good times and bad.
Managers are the stewards of your capital. In this module, we will show you what to look out for in the company’s management team. A capable management team will have its interests aligned with its shareholders and will always act in the best interest for the company. This will most likely lead to higher growth in earnings for the business and hence higher stock prices. An incompetent management team will look after their own interests first at the expense of the company and its shareholders. This will most certainly lead to the erosion of shareholder value and hence lower stock prices.
Numbers paint a story. In this module, you will learn how to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. You will also learn how to calculate and interpret key financial ratios that will provide valuable insights as to how the company will perform in the future. After all, a great business with a great management should result in great financial performance; anything else would be a potential red flag.
Price is what you pay, value is what you get. In this module, you learn how to value stocks using different valuation ratios. By comparing the value derived from the ratios to the market price of the stock, you will be able to determine whether the stock is undervalued or overvalued. You will also learn how to identify stocks with massive potential to get re-valued and have their stock prices soar!
Putting all your eggs in one basket and watching it closely. In this module, we will provide you with the optimal guidelines for portfolio management that will maximise your returns while minimising your risk. Guidelines include idea generation, stock filter, how many stocks you should hold in your portfolio, minimum and maximum position size, level of industry diversification, setting up a watch-list, entry and exit timing.
The farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see. In this module, you will get to see theory being applied into the real world of investing. We will share with you 2 detailed case studies, companies that fulfilled most if not all of our investment criterion and how they have fared since. We will also share what went through our minds at every major point in the company’s growth story.
